I have just had a look on this website at the tables and it says that Gateshead are top - how is this? We drew today and we are third according to teletext. Who is right? I really hope the table on the unofficial site is correct!

Are you referring to my site? There is a bit of confusion surrounding the top of the table. Frickley drew 1-1 at Gateshead but had their point taken off them due to them fielding an inelegible player. From what I gathered the game was then awarded to Gateshead - is this correct?

Frickley drew 0-0 with Gateshead and lost their point as they played an ineligable play. Gateshead have not been given any extra points for this however.

Gateshead are third ahead of Alty on goal difference.

Frickley are appealing about the point deduction but I think they will be unsuccessful.

Frickley have not appealed against the one point deduction. There would be no point as the club definatley broke the rules, albeit without realising at the time. Luke Smith was played as a second half substitute when not correctly registered - everyone presumed he was registered properly because he only signed in January of this year and non-contract signbings are usually for 2 years.

The one point deduction came into operation as of last Monday.

The table has been changed and unfortunately for yourself Simon, Gateshead are no longer top. Sorry for getting your hopes up!!!
