Same old story yesterday against the league's top side - the defence being the problem. We had dominated the possession in the opening 20 minutes of the first half and had plenty of chances and one of them being a penalty which we missed. And From their first five shots of the game, they scored five goals. In all the time I have watched Gateshead I have never been so insulted and never seen us go behind that much in a league game. I couldn't believe it was 5-0 at half time. We have now conceded 14 in 4 games - 12 of those in the league. To rub salt into the wounds those arrogant Burton fans were full of themselves! It's not sour grapes but I hope whoever play them next will wipe the smile off the faces.
I had never been so insulted last Wednesday when Gateshead scored four times in the first half from their three attacks. What goes around comes around.
The Burton fans were quite nice to us when we lost 5-1 there on the 3rd day of the season but someone else was saying that where they were stood they were arguing with the Hyde fans when a Hydonian was saying Matty Taylor was skinning their players every time - they were 5-1 up at the time and couldn't take a tiny bit of criticism. At Hyde a few of them had had a few too many lemonade shandys...
Well I had a double whammy, I missed the first 20 mins because of a flat tyre. Then I saw the school boy performance of Gateshead. It was very fitting that they were only given no more than six minutes 'rest' at half-time, never have I seen a team sent out so early. Though they scored more in the second half the southerners still had the edge. Not a biased report as I wanted Gateshead to win. 'My team' move ever nearer and faster to the NWC league, again (Workington).
Who you calling Southerners?? Seriously I thought Gateshead were a pretty good side, and at the risk of being labelled 'arrogant', we weren't playing at anything like our best.
Fair play to the Gateshead fans by the way, there weren't that many of them but they gave good support in the first half.
Looking forward to the match with Alty on 15th December, should be a cracker.

2. I know what I heard and saw from 'some' of your fans on Saturday and quite a few other Gateshead fans happened to agree with me as do a lot of people who come on these forums. Yes there were some fans who seemed alright but there were a lot who were just so damn cocky and that's who I am refering to and not the nice ones.
3. I realised we were well beaten if you read my message properly. I titled my message as 'Never been so insulted' due to the disgraceful performance and defensive errors. I had never seen a result like this in the league during the time I have supported Gateshead.
4. Some Burton fans were insulting us Gateshead fans so this is my way of pay back. I wouldn't have said these things about Burton fans otherwise.

When you lot came to the Int' stadium some other Gateshead fans told me (I had not seen or heard of this though until I was told) that some Burton fans came up to them and said Gateshead were nothing special (how they can say this after drawing 1-1 is a mystery they obviously weren't watching the game or they were spitting their dummies out because they drew) and I heard that they were swearing and insulting them.
6. I know Gateshead need sorting out and I don't need you to remind me.

I was not intending to start a war with Burton fans but I was frustrated yes but that is not the reason why I have said some Burton fans are arrogant. I know what I saw and heard and that is what I am getting at. Plus I apologise to those innocent fans (including you if you are one) who thought I was getting at them!
