I only caught a bit of it but on Wednesday evening on GMR (Greater Manchester Radio) there was a lengthy feature on Accrington Stanley, that well known Manchester side. I didn't quite get the gist of the feature although I think the website was mentioned and it was on about how they're a team of great tradition! What about the Manchester sides, eh?

The Pride of English Football

March 7 2002, 7:32 PM

We have had a lot of media coverage this week, on Wednedsay it was 40 years to the day that we made our famous exit from the Football League.

Did the website really get a mention?

I think so

It said something about how people worldwide keep tabs on the club via the website and then it interviewed someone, but I only heard bits of it through a crowded room so don't quote me. Someone told me that there was something on the TV as well, but I didn't see it.

great article in 442 this month - that gas man was a b******d!
We went to Peel Park last year and primary school teams were playing over the park sideaways- sacrilege!
We were trying to work out from old photos where the stand was and guessed that the "drink Burnley ales " was next to the Burnley Road - however this maybe have been the main stand
On Stanley On - Rob were Stanley the pride of english football with eleven scotsmen in their team?
Therein maybe lies their demise!
I actually met a guy last year who came down from Perth to play for stanley and stayed and who knew my dad and his cousin!
Either way its a great story and I would rather watch Stanley than 15 Man U's
