Blyth Spartans have received a substantial grant from The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FISF) to improve their Croft Park home.
The Fund granted the Club £149,100 which, with an additional £47,000 from Blyth Valley Borough Council and £2,000 from the Spartans Supporters Club, the Club now has almost £200,000 to spend on improvements to the ground.
The improvements will include concrete terracing behind both goals (replacing the current cinder heaps), a covered disabled area, additional toilet facilities, a perimeter safety wall, crush barriers and improved access to the main stand.
The key to these plans is the necessity to provide a safe and quality environment for spectators as well as establishing a basis for future developments to this famous old ground.
and there was me thinkin u meant playin whitby the other nite, wot a bunch of donkeys, if u cant get the ball u kick (or punch) till u do.
shame ur not goin down.
If Blyth had been 5-0 up at half time you coudn't have complained. If Blyth are donkeys, what does that make Whitby? 3 times we've played you and you haven't beaten us yet!. As for punching and kicking, how come you had 3 players booked after a "push and shove" and Blyth didn't have any booked?. Your number 4 was lucky to stay on the pitch after that, never mind when he brough Glen Robson down minutes later.
I felt sorry for your goalkeeper, playing in front of a defence like that. Your number 2 was the worst fullback I've seen since I left school.
I hope you don't go down, as I like our trips to Whitby, but you have to improve soon.
