A little bird, sort of told me, without actually answering any questions......
Bishop A have till the 30th of April to have ground grading approval done on the ground at shildon, work has not yet started on the stand, they could face relegation because of that, and then Hyde would contest the play off....TOM,LUKE, did you hear that..?
The league would, allegedly, not be averse to having 24 teams in the league, and the Ilkeston move is not yet a dead duck....
oh yes, we need a 4th turnstile.....!! even tho we don't use the 3 we have, but hey ho, that's ground grading for you
I don't believe for one minute that the league would relegate Bish for such a reason. They knew all along that the Bish ground would be unavailable after a certain date because of cricket commitments. It is league itself that moved the goalposts mid-season by introducing these play-offs after the end of the normal season. If this did happened and BA appealed, I wouldn't think the NPL committee would have a leg to stand on.
(As a Whitby fan I would like Bish to stay up, but as a former student of Bangor Uni I also have a soft spot for the Bay! Best thing for me would be if CB went into the play-offs and won!!)
I think youve got the wrong end of the stick. The league wouldn't relegate them IF they reach the play-offs - it would only be if they failed to make the necessary ground improvements.
There is a separate problem of where Bishops would play if they were to go into the play-offs, and they might possibly have to give up home advantage.
