What do you think of your name change then? Wakefield Emley isn't it? Does it bother you that the club has lost its identity, or do you think its for the best?

We changed our name last season to Runcorn FC Halton, but most fans, and this applies especially to Linnets fans, still call us Runcorn. Nobody in the town uses the Halton bit.

What do fans of other clubs think of this also? I mean what if your club changed its name to try to entice more fans along? Can you see it now...

Wakefield Emley v Barrow & Ulverston FC
Runcorn FC Halton v Altrincham Sale
Ellesmere Port Vauxhalls v Frickley South Elmsall

Is this the way forward? I think not! Opinions welcome!

Emley name change

Couldn't agree more.

I think Runcorn set a reasonable example last season.
Emley FC Wakefield would have been much better. (the village is only 1.5 miles outside the Wakefield District Council boundary.)

The name is actually Wakefield and Emley. This suggests an amalgamtion of 2 teams (which it obviously isn't.)
Examples of this are: Dagenham and Redbridge and Rushden and Diamonds - both 2 teams
