none on tyneside either. last sunday's never turned up either. i don't hold out much hope for this week's edition.
i emailed the paper last monday and they never bothered to reply. wh smiths are probably the largest distributer and if they cock-up most of us will suffer. but i wonder if it is a distributuion problem or a cost cutting exercise by a frim that is in administration.
This message has been left on our message board by our Droylsden Match Reporter and reads as follows:
"In case you didn't know, the company behind the Non League Paper and its associated titles has gone into liquidation. Anyone (like me) who is owed money from last season will have to put in a claim and put up with whatever percentage payment they can come up with.
The point of administration is to keep it a going concern for the time being. We have been promised that future work will be paid for by the administrators, that is until they can see whether it can be sold/kept going or will have to be shut down.
I'm pretty lucky in that, although I've had no payment for anything since December 2001, I only stand to lose a couple of hundred pounds at worst: I know of at least one guy who was already owed of £1,000 before last Christmas.
Frankly, I'm not surprised. The NLP was a good idea, but I have a lot of issues with the way it was run. I know lots of people who had stopped buying it and I'm not surprised. That said, as far as I understand, the paper's circulation was steadily increasing and they may be the victim of some double-dealing that is under investigation.
If anyone else out there has suffered, my sympathies"
Personally I stopped buying it some time ago as I was sick of the southern bias in the paper and I think the £1 price was a bit steep for a paper I didnt read much of. I'd rather stick to our local Sunday paper
They went into administration a few weeks ago. Within a few months of starting, they had a bit of a hoo-haa in the boardroom, with a couple of directors alledgedly resigning over financial irregularities, which will have hurt their budget.
Close season is always going to be a tough time for them, I hope things will pick up when the season starts.
they owe me from november last year, how many other unibond club supporters who get volunteered to do it are owed, i wonder?. multiply it by the number of leagues and work out someone is making money somewhere out of us all and laughing.
Im a subscriber to NLP (as no local shops supply the paper) so my paper is delivered on a tuesday - It is always here on a tuesday morning and i have never had any problems (except when they forgot to remind me my subscription had ran out)
So if you dont mind getting the news two days late - why not subscribe to the paper - this way also if they know how many people subscribe and buy the paper this would help them out of administration
Or lose your money if the Administration order becomes Liquidation. This is the only reason I don't subscribe to either the NLP or the Non League magazine. They've always given the impression of being short of cash.
