They say you can only beat what's in front of you, that's what we did today.
Hard to gauge the performance of the lads against opposition whose search for points could go on for some time (although they have Gateshead next

).
Blyth dominated the early exchanges, going ahead when John Hutton's header was judged to have crossed the line. Frickley equalised when Pepper and Forster failed to pick up Wordsworth to head an underserved equaliser. Blyth regained the lead when David McMahon headed home a cross in first-half injury time.
Blyth didn't start the second half convincingly, there were a couple of hairy moments in the back line, but the game was wrapped up when Carl Pepper scored with a simple headed from a chipped cross from Phil Brumwell. Brumwell made it four when he thundered home a free-kick from 20 yards. Frickley scored a late consolation, once again down to some slack marking.
Attendance was disappointing, perhaps due to England kicking off at 4.
MOM: Colin Morton. No-one stood out today, but Colin slotted in nicely and helped Gareth Williams. The two make a good combination.
