Two first half goals from Accrington gave them the win. For a friendly I suppose this was a good test for both teams. Radcliffe at almost full strength. Can't say for Stanley but they did start with Speare, carden and Mullin so I don't think they were that far off.
Attendance around 100.
Not a bad FREE evenings entertainment

Pretty much full squad for accy. Even the manager got his kit on for the last ten minutes

It was far from a kickabout thats for sure. lots of commitment and hard work. Accy looked like they where playing for there places to me.

Most helpful stewards in league

October 31 2002, 12:39 PM

I have to give special mention to the stewards at ACC, who have to be the most courteous. One poor soul dropped his phone, within seconds two of them had picked it up and put it back together for him.
You wouldn't get that at Farsley they would probably have run off with it and got a fiver for it.

Yes there was four of us, I was the one who started with the camera, found it too cold so so decided to just watch the game anyway, probably the one furthest away from you.
You must have a good outfield 10 to persevere with Speare??????.

What's wrong with our Jamie

November 1 2002, 2:50 PM

What exactly do you mean RadB - 'perservere with Jamie Speare' - he's probably the best goalie in the Unibond Premier & we're proud of him - at least he's not a Neville Southall lookalike like your goalie!!!

Speare

November 1 2002, 4:15 PM

I mean exactly what I say, I and some Accy fans who were stood nearby me mentioned the same thing.
SPeare IMHO is prone to too many mistakes, and in what I have seen his kicking is poor.
As for the best golie in the PRem then what can I say, there will be a hell of a lot of goals scored in that league this season if they are all as poor as him.
As for Neville Southall look a like, David Felgate played the other night and he is our goalkeeping coach not the first choice. We also have a good shot stopper in Danny hurst but he is also prone to too many mistakes and a bad kicking game. So if Coleman is interested as has been moote d then I personally wouldn't recommend him.

If we had played him in goal you wouldn't of scored?????
Its not often Felgate finds someone bigger than him on the park

To RadB - sure Jamo can have on off day sometimes like anyone else (although it doesn't happen very often) and if the Stanley fans you say were agreeing with you were the 'gimmers' who usually stand in the 'cowsheds' then I can understand that - they're not happy unless they're moaning about something but are you sure you were looking at the right keeper - we did switch them at half time you know (Jamie is the bald one)!!!!!

I have seen Speare play over the last two-three years against us and always seen him as a bit "Dodgy"
