After the success of the Gateshead FC Supporters Tour last August Michael Murray, John Young, Alan and Nick Percival have agreed to give it another bash.
Reaching all 45 clubs in 30 hours and 15 minutes last time the group of supporters managed to raise £500 for Gateshead FC. This time they are determined to complete the tour in less than 24 hours, following a different route.
They're not bothered about how much money they raise this time, if any, just the feeling of doing the tour in under the time would be good enough.
Second driver Kev Pattison had not confirmed yet but hopes that the "Famous Five" will all reunite are high. Preparations have starting to be made with a date for The Tour scheduled to start at Workington on Saturday the 26th July around 7pm and therefore finish at Blyth on Sunday the 27th. There is the possibility though, with time permitting, they will finish at the International Stadium.
The search for a suitable 7-seater car has started and the group are also thinking about contacting the Guinness Book of Records. Anyone wishing to sponsor the group on their tour can email Gaetshead FC UNofficial Webmaster Alan Percival at webmaster@gatesheadfc.net and it doesn't matter how much or how little your sponsor is. ANYONE who sponsors us with £10 or more will get a mention on the website.
