What an honest site! Well Done.
Minutes of meetings etc stating current situation.
However, I have to question statement re NI and PAYE "we are one of the few clubs doing it correctly"
I can only say that Bishop are now doing correctly.
Perhaps that is why we now find ourselves in our current position.
However, I feel that with our current Chairman we will go from strength to strength.
We are in the last stages of selling Kingsway. Deal would have gone through but intervention of Sport England has delayed process.
progress soon hopefully.
Thanks for your comments. I look after the site and am also on the management committee at Blyth. We have a policy of keeping everyone - players, manager and supporters - informed as much as possible.
As far as PAYE and NI it's hard to tell who is paying what. There is an assumption made by players that when the manager offers them £x that's what they will get in their hand. Until all clubs require them to pay tax they may be tempted to go wherever they can get "cash in hand".
Good luck with your new ground. It's been a long time coming.
I think that, after the problems at Boston, the FA audited most (if not all) clubs at this level. I would guess that the number of clubs 'cheating' in this way is much, much lower than it has been in the past.
I know that they are auditing all clubs at this level - and from Football League Division 1 downwards. It started before the Boston stuff came to light so not directly related. And I'd be suprised if they've done all clubs yet - it's a long process involving two days at the club then writing and revising a report after the club have had a chance to comment.
