Leaving the station approach, turn left on Mansfield Road and up the hill towards the town centre. Take the second turn left onto Prospect Street (chippie on corner, but buy your food on the ground and put some cash into our coffers). Continue for full length of Prospect Street (which is a dreadful misnomer), crossing Nottingham Road on a light-controlled pedestrian crossing. Facing you is a Roamn Catholic church, and North Street goes down the right hand side of the church. 100 yards down, the ground is on your right, set well back. Estimated walking time from station is 15 minutes. Hope this helps, and we meet in the Trophy.
Slight error, sorry. I should have said leaving station approach turn RIGHT into Mansfield Road. You would have finished up watching South Normanton Athletic!
Looking at the pitiful attendance of 190 for the Trophy replay (for a place in the last 16 for God's sake), I think Burscough need all the help through the gate they can get.
It's literally 200 yards from the station, go up the steps from the platform turn right at the top and then right again and you can basically see the ground from there.
Yes, you are missing something.
Everyone has had blips - including Ferriby, Matlock, Belper, Spennymoor, Witton, Radcliffe had theirs early (and may get another one yet) and of course Alfreton are currently doing so.
The Reds squad has had a terrible time with injuries - including operations for two players - both main strikers have been out for 10 to 12 weeks apiece, but have the club, management, players moaned? - no they haven't. They have just got on with it.
One of the strikers Mick Goddard is now back, they have signed another one on loan from Doncaster Rovers - Danny Bent - who looks a class act - and 27-goal Mick Godber will be back in the next few games - his return will be a massive boost.
The side now won't have the distractions of the FA Trophy or League Cup either.
Normal service will probably be resumed shortly.
After all that, look who are still (fairly) comfortable at the top of the table.
I'm with you Kev. We accy fans get the same old tosh as you do. I'm sure Alfreton will soon turn it around again we were written off after the debacle at Gateshead (who are on a great run after a bad start) but we have just won the next six games, scoring sixteen goals with only three against. Don't listen to the distracters just keep the faith. Alfreton will be in the premier div next season. I,m just sorry we wont be meeting them.
