So hows that gonna work then? Are they promoting 5 and relegating 3 or just relegating 1 and promoting 3. Either way it should mean that we get rid of the extra club - shouldn't it?!!
Surely though if Leigh dont finish bottom we just dont accept anyone. With only one team coming down we shouldnt accept them especially if it isnt Leigh.
Cant be having option two though as it could mean Hyde escape again!!
Does Anyone no when will they sort this out, feel sorry 4 teams like accrington, tamworth and aldershot. surley they deserve to go up. Is this conference division 2 going to be next season or 2004/05. I dont know why they just dont keep the same structure. My opinion but teams like Barrow dont really want to go to a rymans team. To far in distance and money situation. There mucking all things up. Plus mucking up referees in standard too.
What are you on about? The question isn't whether Accy etc will be promoted - of course they will, otherwise how else is the Conference going to expand!
If Accrington win the title..And yes I do mean IF as we are too scared to say anything else yet Then they will go up.
The tosh written in confguide.com about maybe the ground isn't up to standard is the same old stuff thats been asked all season by people wishing it to be true. The reality is that the Crown ground has been conference standard for two seasons now. I can't believe confguide.com print such bollox based on nothing more than a whisper from someone who obviously knows nowt.. The facts prove that. Sorry I just hate missinformation especially when it was so easy for them to find out the truth.
If Accrington are promoted and no northern team is relegated from the Conference, the Unibond can do one of two things - first, it can revert to 22 clubs in the Premier Division (23 was only ever meant to be a temporary measure but it's been there since 1997) or it can keep 23, making third from bottom safe, putting next-to-bottom (Colwyn or, just maybe, Hyde) into the play-off, and relegating only one club from Division One - which would mean Eastwood Town or Trafford, whichever ends next to bottom, would survive. Eastwood have escaped via politics at least twice before, so they will be the luckiest club out if they do it again. But they are our near neighbours and good friends (except when we play them tomorrow) so I hope they do survive. Does the Conference's decision mean it has aboandoned plans to launch their new divisions next season?
It is strongly rumoured that a decision has been reached about either Conference 2 or two feeders into the Conference (small but important difference), but that the news cannot yet be announced.
Just been listening to Accrington Chairman Eric Whalley on Radio Lancashire according to whom:
1) Accrington's ground has been passed for the Conference since last season - no problem there.
2) Conference 2 North and South now scheduled for 2004/5 - it will not happen next season.
