"Despite relegation from the Unibond Premier Division last season Gateshead need to raise their admission prices to meet the league minimum".
These increased prices are £6 adults, £4 OAPs and kids for free.
Leek Town's are the same as last year, £5 adults, £3 concessions (e.g. OAPs and unaccompanied kids) and £1 accompanied children. So are Gateshead pulling a fast one, or are Leek breaking the rules?
Well I was told by the Chairman and the club Secretary that the UniBond have stipulated that prices must be a minimum of £6 and £4. There would be no point in raising the prices other wise as we get few people as it is and we're trying to attract people to watch us not put them off.
Alfreton last season was £5 and £3, and this season £6 and £4. Season tickets were £78 last year and £99 this season(One of the lowest in the Premier league I think- and sales are much hegher than last year). However, our Chairman has asked for an average gate of 500.
One presumes that many Gateshead players would be on Prem league contracts still, hence the admission prices being £6 and £4 for this year as they will get less revenue from lower attendences etc.
I'm afraid you've presumed wrong. Every players contract ran out on the 2nd July and only 2 players have signed contracts this season, so it can't be because of wages. We have a lot more sponsorship money coming in so we've been able to give our gaffer more money for transfers.
Like most other Division One clubs, Lincoln United's prices are £5 adults, £2.50 OPAs / children.
The League does have guidelines, but the above admission fees are found at most other Div. One grounds as well. Gateshead are pulling a fast one methinks! It's not illegal but is a bit dicourteous to the other clubs when their fans get in cheaper at our ground.
