Anyone wonder why no one in hockey ever seems to be honoured in any way in any of the honours lists?
We have, I'm sure, deserved cases and individuals from many other 'minority' sports who are honoured but never anyone (in my memory) from our sport.
Surely our sport has personalities who should by now have been honoured - is it down to the governing bodies shamefully omitting to ever nominate anyone??
No disrespect but when the likes of Nasser Hussain is honoured this year for arguably doing a no more than reasonable job as English skipper in the cricket, why the hell has sometone like say Tony Hand, who has been a dominant personality in our sport over all the years of North American domination of the sport over here, never been honoured?
That was my first choice, I'm sure others may be worthy!
Is it up the authorities to get their finger out and see our sport gets the recognition or is it maybe up to the supporters of the sport to bombard the government ministers or at least the sports bosses to help promote the sport in that way.
Any thought on the way forward or who you think is deserving of such an honour?
Bill Barr? surely as he is an upstanding member of the british business world, as most of the New Years Honours list appear to be, he should have at least something...
Come on..anybody who can afford Ed Courtenays wage must also be contributing VAST amounts to the countrys wealth overall...
