Not so sure 8-1 reflected your team's performance tonight. If it hadn't been for a superb performance by Cavallin, I would have said something around 8-4 would have been a fairer reflection.

For a team with 11 players, you did remarkably well and gave us some nasty scares. Nice to hear your guys getting a wee cheer when leaving the ice too.

And if anybody of your folks at the game saw what Lipsett's unsportsmanlike was for, I'd like to know too. Good old Hanson.

For a few words of comfort... guess we know how you lot felt just a few short months ago, eh... right down to the shutout-breaking consolation with five minutes left!

I guess Hanson thought he was doing us a favour giving Lipsett a 10 rather than a 2 (therefore giving the Giants a powerplay)... cheers Moray, don't do us any more favours, eh?

Steve

Lipsett - Unsportsmanlike

January 4 2002, 11:36 PM

From my seat it appeared that Bobyck (I think) was called offside, and there then ensued a heated debate about it with he officials and several Steelers players. I assume he questioned Hanson parentage, or something along those lines. I may be wrong here though, perhaps it was Lipsett that was given offside.
I agree that 8-1 didn't reflect the true nature of the game. Considering the short bench the Steelers had I think they did pretty well.

Just back from the Odyssey and have to agree with DA- your players must have been exhausted yet forced Cavvy (who played out of his little socks)to work really hard for his MOM. They must have wondered what they had to do to score and why the hockey gods were being so unkind! Glad to see Steeler fans here too - they won't have enjoyed the score this time, but hopefully we'll see you again.
Happy New Year in Steelerland!
