...After Friday nights game, a 6-0 drubbing of the Storm would have seemed like an anti climax..:)
Excellent 1st period, seemed to just slice through them in the early mins...but it was too good to be true..They came out for the 2nd period having modelled themselves on the Storm in the first...couldnt catch cold, seemed to lose the ablity to put a puck on the end of any stick that belonged to a black clad figure..and Uncle Nigel made a few dodgy calls (tho i have seen a far better pp than the ones the Mancs took advantage of). 3rd period was much better, but we couldnt buy a bloody goal..Ricky was head and shoulders above any on the ice,,nice to see that every time he touched the puck, there was a chorus of boo's from our cousins over the hills..which just made the guy play better...thanks for that chaps..
comedy moment of the game (no its not Nigel Bonifaces interpretation of the 'Charging' rule) was the playing of 'Whoosh its behind you' when they scored their 4th goal....It woiuld be interesting to to find out if theirs any royalties to come the Steelers way for that...
All in all a tad disappointed that we collapsed in the 2nd..some nice touches but not enough in front of goal in the last 2 periods if truth be told...
At least it made the Stormies happy...the looks on some of em's faces (you know who you are
)after the 1st period was positively heartbreaking...
