According to a posting on UKH (from Guin) communications recieved from Alyson Pollard the ISL's Media manager, indicate that the DEL have confirmed that they wish to defend the their trophy next season.

I'll hold my hands up and say that I was quite derogatory on the whole thing to start with, but it turned out to be a most entertaining competition and concept...all that needs to be done next season is for our teams various managements to get their asses in gear with DECENT promotional prices and concepts ticket wise..Some of the marketing and ticketing phenomena around the iSL teams during this competition have been amateur at best, rip off at worst...

Agreed Scuff. I enjoyed the games I saw and there is great potential in the event but it does need the ISL (and the DEL ?) to get off their backsides and PROMOTE the whole thing. Media coverage was just about zilch and at Sheffield at least you were not going to know about the event if you didn't already go the hockey. Bearing in mind the reason for the trophy then the ticket prices and options should certainly have been made nore appealing.
