A team called AMSTERDAM TIJDERS have failed in an attempt to join the ISL because of there small arena (2500 seater). Good thing is An arena has been given the go ahead, and the IIHF were about to give the 'stamp of approval except for their arena size. Their Arena should be ready 2007, and its reported the ISL may let them in in 2005 to let them establish themsleves.
Also there are a few Italian teams interested in joining the league.

Shame

February 18 2002, 7:17 PM

Interest in joining the ISL is more than welcome - god knows we cannot have another season with just 7 teams. But I find the possible reason in this case for non admittance to be the (low ?) seating capacity to be a bit rich. If I recall correctly the aim of the ISL was to have 5000 seater venues but I don't see that at present (or in the immediate future ?)at places like Bracknell or Ayr.

That'll be nice for all the ikkle teams that have kept the league going the last few years.

Thanks for all the help guys but yer rinks to small. The BNL's over there, first on the right, close the door on your way out!
