Congratulations to the Sheffield team for the Play-Off win. A game that goes to penalties is one that always brings the house down, and last night was no exception. An excellent game between two teams who both wanted to win, and an ending that kept everyone on the edge of their seat, if not standing up!
To the Sheffield fans who were gracious in victory, who took part in the friendly banter, and who were there to support the team and celebrate the sport - enjoy the win, take it easy, have a good summer, and I'll see you next season!
All the best,
Rev (Storm fan and proud, hockey fan and loving it!)
Firstly many thanks to the players/team managment/coach/physio/doctor at the Steelers who gave us something we perhaps did not expect at the start of this season, a championship. After the close season, and the late start, they have performed brilliantly, and to be able to contest the last game of the season was beyond our dreams at the start of the season. Thanks Lads.
To Mr Lea, thanks for the stabilty, we now have a stability that has been lacking for a few years, Mike can now go a build a team during the summer, that can challenge for all the titles next season, you may not agree with the way Mr Lea keeps the purse strings tight, and the apparent lack of marketing of the club, but at least we have stability.
What also became clear that the ISL management have lost the plot completely, and I am glad that this week will see the end of the old regime, lets hope the new management whoever it is can get it right. This weekend the whole game of hockey should have been the winner, we had a full house, three closely fought games, and a nailbiting finish. What did we lack, TV Coverage, the best indoor game in the country, had no TV Coverage. We get a five day cricket match, with hardly any spectators watching, darts, basketball, and dog racing, but the best game of the lot, gets nothing at all, It is a shame because this weekend showed how good this game is, and the atmosphere that goes with that was first class. Lets hope the new management can get us the TV deal that we deserve.
Many thanks again to all the team, you have put a spring back into our step. AS Scuff said the tingle before the weekend started was there, and I am still on cloud 9 now. Stephen
