As far as I saw on Monday/Tuesday not a mention of the Steelers play off win, Look North in there sports news said there was not much sporting success this weekend, and then gave 3/4 mins over to the demise of Halifax Town, who I beleive possibly have a lower crowd average then we do. I have to agree with Stephen I have also not heard anything about the play offs on Look North and I was also mad so I have sent a email to them below is a copy of what I put
I have just been listening to Look North and when it came to the sport Harry said there wasn't much sport over the weekend to report about. Well maybe not for football supporters but what about other sports fans. I have just spent a GREAT weekend at the Ice Hockey Super League play off finals. which Local team the Sheffield Steelers were again taking part and again WON the first team in the ISL to win two years in a row. now we know ice hockey is not a big sport but it is a local sport and over 3000 Steeler fans went to the finals in Nottingham from all over Yorkshire (not just South Yorkshire ). It would bee nice to have at least heard a bit from you as specially as Radio Sheffield (part of the same organisation) broadcasted the final.
Also it would be nice to here about other sports too, what about Basketball, Speedway (both Sheffield and Hull) Rugby union as well as Rugby league.
The sporting world doesn't revolve round football.
There is coverage of some other sports, Rugby League for example and not just the Rhinos & Bulls. Who except the 200 or so that stand around the pitch are interested in the York Wasps ? (Went out of business last week after 112 years). Even Doncaster Belles got a mention on Radio Aire over the weekend for making it to the Ladies FA cup final.
