Can anyone help me (!?) I am having an arguement with a friend who claims the Newcastle Jesters used to be sponsored by John Smiths. I disagree, can anyone put the record straight for me, thus saving my friendship. Thanks - Go Steelers

There's still some through put of postings even tho they havent had a team this year, surely some of the hockey fans of the North East will be able to tell you who sponsored the Jesters and the Cobras even, think that was adidas.
I thought it was Century FM, Metro had dashers round the rink I believe. The late night phone in on Metro with Alan Robson (?) was fun sometimes, anyone know it ? Is it still on ? its been many years since I lived in Newcastle, Andy Cole was still there, you could stand in the Gallowgate End at St James, the hockey was at Whitley Bay and Durham.
What seems like many moons ago now, in the Newcastle Cobras (as was then) first season Metro were heavily involved. But following that & several nane changes it was Century last year. Next year who knows!!! To be honest I just want a hockey team, don't really care about anything else apart from not having the EYE Group back!!
