I know a few of you who come on here are supporters of Barnsley FC.
Just thought I’d let you know that I have it on good authority that on the night before the Man City game, some of the players were at Neil Morgans house partying into the early hours of the morning.
In my opinion that shows a complete lack of professionalism and a total disregard for the loyal supporters of the club. No wonder they got relegated with that sort of attitude, Steve Parkin is quite right.
I’m not sure if Corey Beaulieu was at the party though .
Our jovial friend from 'beautiful downtown Bramhell Lane' Laughing boy Warnock actually sent a team of young uns and trialists against Walsall, just to make sure eh?
who the hell is Neil Morgan?
Que sera Mr Craine...que sera...See you the season after..one way or another
Knowing me I've probably got the name wrong. It's the guy who is your so called captain and lives in Penistone. Lets just say a neighbour wasn't too happy with the noise they were making in the early hours....no wonder Man City stuffed them.
I wasn't taking the mickey, I have to work with a Barnsley fan , when I told him, he was disgusted, but not too surprised.
in tarn that there has been a sad lack of restraint on the part of certain players..Mr Parkin decided he could trust em as 'grown ups'...sound familiar?
Mr Parkin has already told certain players that they will be on their bikes come the summer...
and its Chris Morgan..wasnt Neil Morgan an old Cardiff Devil?
Now then Red Steeler, Laughing boy Warnock started with the same side that pasted Watford the previous weekend, although I admit a debutant came on in the second half (and looked good!)
But one of the highlights of a disappointing Blades season has been kids getting first team places, Jags had a really good volley that just missed (Clipped a Walsall bloke on the head, I don't think he knew too much about it until he got hit!)
Walsall's goal led a charmed life in the second half and although a lot of the crowd weren't bothered about the result on the day (Got to look on the bright side I suppose, Walsall winning may yet mean washday going down as well!) I at least am sorry to see Barnsley go, if only because my club needs the extra revenue generated by derby games.
Sorry about the result, Doom, but this family of Steelers supporters actually come originally from Norfolk and support them Canaries you played on Saturday! Your lot played like them from the Lace City on a bad day. There was more "fight" from the supporters with their version of a bench clearance onto the pitch at the end. I thought that the few Barnsley supporters who found their way through the cops to shake hands with the City supporters at the front showed real class, though (obviously Steelers supporters like yourself). I'm pretty down about Barnsley going down as it is one of the few times I can easily get to see my team without driving for hours. After Steelers' success in the play-offs, I'm hoping Norwich can make it a play-off double for this family in Dronfield, but I suspect that reality will smack us in the chops in the next week or so. Good luck for next season and I'm sure you'll bounce straight back.
I'm a Sheffield United supporter. How Barnsley perform does not matter to me one jot, I was just relaying some information I'd been given. I think you'll find it's Mr Scuff who is the unhappy camper.
Good luck to the canaries in the play-offs....you'll need it against Birmingham and Wolves/West Brom.
Regards
Doom (a supporter of South Yorkshires top 2 sides... Steelers/Blades )
the thought of Doom in his pink coat sullying the stands at Oakwell actually put a grin on my face..
Nah...we made our beds when we failed to beat your nearest and dearest at Wembley..our board have decided in their wisdom over the last two seasons to replace the likes of Hignett with ...well nobody actually and went for the cheap option of manager in Steve Parkin..
Good luck in the play offs..as long as you stuff either the Blue noses (perenial faliures in the play Offs) and the other Dingles (you know, the ones who insist they should be in the Prem cos theyre a big club hah!!)..the likes of yourselves and west Brom deserve to get summat out of the season for doing it nice and quietly and in a business like manner..Tho I wasnt at the well on Saturday, the old man reckoned that your support was by far the best to appear there..much more vocal and in greater numbers than any of our near neighbours..
Sorry for getting you two mixed up and thanks for the kind words! As you're actually a Blades fan, Doom, I wondered if there was any truth in Panthers signing George Santos and Patrick Suffo for next season to replace that pussycat Barry Nieckar? Unfortunately football seems to operate a one fight and out rule which means that we won't be seeing them back at the Lane again.
The biggest reason for all of those 42 coaches from Norwich was the cheap travel on offer from the club. Without this there would have been more of the ex-pats from round these parts in the ground than those from Norfolk. I actually had a chance to get a job back in Norwich a few years ago but couldn't face life without hockey (just so that I know that I've got my priorities right!
