Another Step Forward for the Steelers
After several months of searching, Steelers owner Norton Lea believes that
he has found the right blend of people to take up the newly appointed
positions of Associate Directors for the Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Club.
"I have always believed that this club needed a strong second echelon and
after careful consideration I believe that I have a found a diligent and
experienced group that care for the well being of the Steelers and ice
hockey in Sheffield. I am confident that both individually and collectively
the Associate Directors will join me in overseeing the long term future of
the club
"We received many applications to join us and I am grateful to all of those
who took the time and trouble to contact us, I hope they will also support
the new Associate Directors in future"
Joining Mr Lea and the previously appointed David Simms will be
Stephen Williams, a partner with the Sheffield based solicitors practise AMS
Law, Catherine Locking, a Director of Spaldings UK, Tony Harthill a sales
manager in the medical supply industry, Jurgen Morton Hall a purchasing
executive and Allison Jackson
David Simms joined Mr Lea in welcoming the newly appointed Associate
Directors by saying "for the first time in the Steelers 11 year history we
now have a proper management structure, I am confident that collectively
this group can ensure that the Sheffield Steelers play a prominent role in
Sheffield sport for the foreseeable future".
