Hadden stays at Panthers

With news that Panthers have managed to re-sign Greg Hadden for the up-and-coming season, there is an interesting article on the back page of the Nottingham Evening Post tonight.

To paraphrase it, it seems like Dave Simms was trying to coax Hadden to Sheffield because Hadden felt like his role at the club was being undermimed after the signings of Allison and Wood.

Panthers General Manager, Gary Moran says that he doesn't want to get involved in a slanging match with Dave Simms (who would!) over the incident and also states that his Sheffield counterpart has also made 'noises' about Panthers already breaking the wagecap which he also refutes quite strongly.

In defense of Moran (never thought i'd do that), we have only signed nine players as of yet so don't be surprised to see us fill the rest of the roster with second-rate journeymen (hey that's the Panthers I know and love!), if the quality of the next several signings is like what we've seen in the last few weeks, then even I will be slightly sceptical!!!!

Just thought you'd like to know about the current state of Sheffield-Nottingham relations (if they exist). Full story at the newspapers website I think.

Cheers,
Adam

....IMHO Had's has passed his peak. A couple of years back I'd have welcomed him, but not now.

Agree.....

I too am a bit sceptical about him re-signing for us Stewart. Like you said, IMHO he may be a year or two after his peak, but if he can bang in 20 goals again he'll have done a good job for us.

I still think that he could have done a job up there in Sheffield, new day-to-day surroundings and all that. With you he may have been a standout player but he may have lesser responsibilities than last season with us with the nature of other signings around him.

It remains to be seen if you made the right decision in not offering him better terms than us. I suspect you may be vindicated in your choice, but who knows....

Thorn in your side

with all the big signings that have gone our way I feel that Haddon will have something to prove to all you doubters .
He will have one of his best seasons as he plans to retire at the end and wants to go out with a Bang .
a thorn in the side for our oponents , while your concentrating on the jinmans and woods /alisons etc hadden will be nipping in to score .
Mark my words you havent seen the best of Greg yet .
