Steelers confirm and re-arranged home game :

The Sheffield Steelers have today confirmed that they will play the London Knights on Sunday 29th September 2002.

This game had due to be played on the 10th December, however the Challenge Cup semi finals will be being played in Sheffield on that date.

Steelers still have one home game to arrange, this being with the Belfast Giants. The Steelers home game against Nottingham Panthers on Wednesday 23rd October is also due to be re-scheduled in the near future.

A couple of questions....

July 23 2002, 7:32 PM

Are both semi-finals being played at the Sheffield Arena?

Does the press release state where and when the final will be?

Regards

Doom

shambles

I've trying to arrange a trip over to Belfast in the coming months. Every time I look on the Steelers site, the Belfast site, or even Iceweb, the fixtures and constantly changing and contradicting each other.

What or where is the official final word on the fixtures?

Trying to book a flight cheaply is ok only if I know that the fixtures are not going to be changed again, and if anyone, this is surely in the best interests of the Giants organisation if they are to attract visiting fans.

Frustrating to say the least.....

Web sites for flights

July 25 2002, 10:16 AM

BDS,

There are a few to choose from.

www.gofly.com fly to Belfast Int.
www.easyjet.com also fly to Belfast Int.
www.flybe.com fly to Belfast City

The Belfast City airport is the more central of the two, I think the International airport is about 10 miles from the ciy centre.

So far the best quotes that I am getting are with Easyjet at about £50. I'm planning on going for the weekend of Fri 16/10/02 to Sun 20/10/02. The Giants are at home to Bracknell on the Friday night, and then at home to the Steelers on the Saturday night. Thought it would be good to experience the atmosphere of the Odessey on the Friday night without the pressures of wanting the Steelers to win.

The thing is with these budget airlines is that the earlier you book, the cheaper the flights are, but obviously, before I book the flights I want some sort of confirmation that the fixtures will not change. Can't see it myself though!
