No More Dark Side for Carlsson - He is a Steeler Now
Sheffield Steelers have completed their defensive blue line roster with the addition of former Nottingham Panther Calle Carlsson on a 1 year contract. Carlsson is reunited with his former Coach Mike Blaisdell who was instrumental in bringing the 6'1 Swede to Britain some 3 years ago.
Blaisdell said "Calle will add offence to our blue line as well as bring a lot of ISL experience with him, he also realises the huge rivalry that exists between the Steelers and the Panthers, we just have to get him looking at things from the other side now"
"Our blue line is complete and Iam happy with it, it gives us balance in size, speed, experience and toughness. Behind these guys are two good solid goalies and up front we have just the one spot to fill"
Just the kind of person we needed to fill our final defensive spot (IMHO). However, not having had the pleasure of watching him week in and week out, not sure about his defensive capabilities.
Most Panthers fans wanted him to return, so I guess he must have been doing something right .
Roll on Friday night when we get to see our new team, I can't wait .
