..... I was in Glasgow last weekend and, sad person that I am, couldn't resist having a look at the Braehead complex.

For a start it's dead easy to find, signposted of Junction 26 of the M8 near Glasgow Airport. I couldn't get to see inside the arena itself as it is part of the shopping complex. But if it's built to the same standard as the rest of the complex it will be great.

Braehead complex is like a slighly smaller but much more modern Meadowhall, but whereas Meadowhall has a TV screen in the Oasis, Braehead has a public skating rink, and it was very busy. And, like Meadowhall it is free parking.

I was amazed that given Uncle Bob's alledged marketing skills and with just two weeks to the season start there was no mention of hockey or the Scottish Eagles anywhere, including the information desks which were crammed with flyers for just about everything else you could imagine.

All in it's potentially a nice arena, just a shame that our friends in Ayr now have to travel all that distance. I just hope that they do travel and don't give up on the sport.

Most will IMHO travel. its a big blow losing the team from the home town. Its easy for me as I live "darn souff" in Gloucester and I get to away games more than home ones. It has left a very sour taste in some mouths but the hockey fans wil be there. EAGLES will be as big a part of ISl as they always have been. and the Tambourine will be there
