Decision - Bracknell v Sheffield Postponed match
The Bracknell Bees vs Sheffield Steelers match played on 20th October was abandoned with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation time after the ice was deemed unfit to continue play.
Having regard to all the circumstances of the case, the availability of ice time in the future, the demands on the players and representations from both teams, the ISL has concluded that the following will apply:-
The match will be treated as completed in relation to regulation time and both team awarded 1 point;
On 10th November 2002, Bracknell v Sheffield (the designated game), the teams will complete the required period of 5 minutes (4 on 4) sudden death overtime in an effort to win an extra point.
All player stats from the original game will stand and the goalkeepers times recorded as playing 60 minutes;
All players eligible to play at the time of the future designated match and who did not play in the original match shall be added to the game record sheet as if they did play in the whole game.
The overtime period shall be played immediately after the warm up period of the designated match has concluded. After the conclusion of the overtime period, both teams shall leave the ice for 20 minutes and the ice cut. The designated game shall then commence after that 20 minute break.
