..seeing as we have certain fans who will find any excuse to moan about where the finals are to be held.. lets do a little poll.
A. Where do you think the finals should be held ?
B. How much more easier would it be for you to get to Manchester compaired to London ?
C. How much longer/shorter would your journey be to Manchester compaired to London ?
D. If you were not going to London does the change of venue now change your mind about attending ?
E. Will the closer venue now attract more familys to attend (shorter traveling time home for people with chidren with school the next day)
A. Manchester
B. Alot cheaper!
C. Alot shorter, id say 2 hours shorter from Sunderland
D. Was going anyway
E. Too right, and there is less pressure on booking early due to capacity
Manc is much much easier for me. A 39 mile drive along the M62, less than one hour in my car as opposed to 200 miles to London. I'd probably go to London but Manc will be much better, I could leave after lunch instead of before breakfast.
No pissing about having to buy tickets from SSSC...can just get em on the day...turn up early, get me tix and sod off for summat to eat and drink..Lets face it Manchester City centre has a wee bit more going for it than Docklands..unless yer into fancy coffee bars
you missed out category F Jackx love..
Will it give perennial grumblers the chance to hone their grumbling skills?
I think the phrase is "Get a Life".
The only and overiding fact is that Steelers are in the final and against the Panties. Quite frankly any half decent supporter would be pleased to watch that one anywhere.
It beats me what all the discussion is about some people are really not happy with anything, I'm sure there are a lot of Stormies that would just like the opertunity to watch their team at all let alone bitch about the venue. Are memories so very short?
A. Manchester, Nottingham or Sheffield
B. Much easier
C. About 2 – 3 hours quicker
D. Yes....I wasn’t going to go to London but now I will be gracing you all with my presence
E. Yes
A. Not really bothered, I'd go anyway. Although as I normally drive I was looking forward to a day out in London on the train and having a few beers!
B. I was going to make a day of it in London and will do the same in Manchester.
C. Probaly about 90 minutes quicker to Manchester but I won't be able to drink on the journey
D. Doesn't apply, was going anyway.
E. The shorter travelling time shouldn't make a difference. As it's a 2.30 face off you could have been back from Docklands by about 8.30. But I accept it will be a lot cheaper to get to Manchester for most people.
For the majority of Sheffield andNott'm fans the switch is a logical and welcome one. But not ALL
Living in London myself I was quite lookinf forward to an easy tube journey down to Canary Wharf and short stroll to the Arena. Now I have to tube it to central London anyway, get a train from Euston to Manchester (which is a nightmare with all the track and signal works near Watford and Milton Keynes), then walk down to the MEN from the train station. Also, I have to get up at an unearthly hour to do so (again cos of the slow Sunday trains and works).
On the positive side, I think I will travel up to Manchester on the Saturday afternoon, check into dirt cheap nasty hotel, and go out on the p*ss with a few of the lads in Manchester City Centre on the Saturday night.
I'm even hoping that ednesday get drawn away in the 4th round of the cup to either Man Utd or Man City - as the 4th round of the FA Cup is scheduled for that day.
So, yeah, its inconvenient. But I am going to use it as en excuse to make a weekend of it.
Cheer up folks. there cant be many more inconvenienced than me out there.
