I just stumbled on this message board and thought I'd say hello. I was a news reporter/stringer for WRKL between 87 and 92, mostly working nights.
I know you're looking for old air checks, which I don't have. But I think I have most of my old stories recorded, if that helps. Just let me know if you want them. I have no idea if I can even find them or what condition the tapes are in!
