Wow, I just stumbled upon this. Moved out of Rockland 20 years ago. In the 1960's & 70's, from our house in Pomona, we could see the WRKL tower. Every morning while preparing breakfast, my mother turned on WRKL so we all heard it every morning before school and work. I remember those snow days excited and full of hope listening to WRKL announce the school closings for the day. And then the applicable cheers or moan followed -- depending upon the word from WRKL. |
