Advocate has graciously granted permission for me to post their wonderful article about Tobin on the WRKL.org website, along with a picture. In speaking with Steve Possell today, he reminded me that Tobin was one of the movers and shakers behind bringing a union, NABET, to WRKL in 1985. His efforts ended up costing him his job, but didn't halt his career, and in fact he continued to be an advocate for his fellow workers, serving as a shop steward at the newspaper, where he worked for the last 15 years.
