Thanks for that most interesting post, Levon. Unfortunately I can't give any specific answers since I am travelling at the moment. But at least these words put your questions back at the top of the messageboard!

Generally, the Kiurikean territory is considered, like the Kingdom of Kars, to be a breakaway part of the Armenian Bagratid Kingdom of Ani, and one that was culturally just as Armenian as the rest of the Kingdom. Beyond that I feel that the truth is that it is not really valid to apply modern concepts of territorial borders based on ethnicity to this distant period. For example, I doubt whether the Armenians of the region would have felt that they were being "invaded" by Georgia in the 13th century.
