I would recommend these titles:
(1) DJOBADZE, Wachtang: Early Medieval Georgian Monasteries in Historic Tao, Klarjet’i and Šavšet’i, Stuttgart 1992.
(2) BAUMGARTNER, Bruno: Studien zur historischen Geographie von Tao-Klardjeti, (Diss. Universität Wien 1997), Wien 1996.
The first one should be available in many libraries, the second is quite hard to find, because unfortunately it was never published on a broad scale. For more literature consult this:

The question concerning the relation between Armenian and Georgian architecture was and is discussed endlessly. Armenians usually insist on the dependency of Georgian on Armenian architecture - Georgians usually see it the other way round. You can find a lot of hot air especially on Ishan. In my opinion both architectures are closely interrelated but the archtecture of Tao, Klarjet’i and Šavšet’i is clearly and predominantly Georgian.
