  • Regarding Karakala west of Kars on the map

    • Posted Apr 19, 2006 7:18 PM

In James T. Agajanian's Autobiography, Page 3, he lists seven villages that surrounded their village of Orta Kilesa which was located 16 miles NE of Kars: Inaluh, Chamerluh, Berdik, Kezelchakchak, Geolbasy, Karapoongar and Karakala, P.4, all Mohammedan. He continues on P. 14: ". . . the village known as Karakala, approximately 35 miles away from our village. This was Armenian Karakala and nearly every member of the village was Protestant." It would seem reasonable to establish the Armenian Karakala between Taslica and Incesu.
