Mr Crossland, I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to your family & staff for the kind deeds of Tuesday. Myself and a colleague had tramped 10 miles across the moors looking forward to a warm drink and food. However we had left all of our money in the car at Clay Bank.
After explaining this to your bar staff we were dealt with in a most civil and pleasant way and were served drinks and food on the promise of paying later.
We have on a number of occassions used the Lion Inn and found it to be of the highest quality. Tuesday went even further in demonstrating this.
Thank you once again from two cold and weary travellers, there are not many other establishments that would do the same.
