Inn keeper history for the Lion Inn

November 15 2008 at 1:20 PM

Hi there, I am researching my Family Tree and have found on the 1891 census that my Great Great Grandfather George Henry Jackson b.1851 Marton Lordship was a Farmer and Innkeeper at the "Lion Inn" along with his 1st wife Mary (Alton maiden name)b.1844 Towthorpe and 2 of their children Frederick Warwick b.1879 Farndale and Walter Owen b.1880 Farndale.

Exciting stuff for me to find out!! Will have to organise a day out to the area soon!!

That's really interesting, The Lion Inn has appeared on a few people's family trees, here's a link to another one from about the same period:

Best of look with your research, let us know what else you find out!
