Our winter has been very mild -- lots of 40's and 50's,
but today's been my first chance to do some good barefooting. Nothing special, just a couple of errands. I trekked up and down the alley some just to get the great feel of the gravel before I set out for downtown. One guy yelled out from his car: "Barefoot in January in Iowa! Can you believe this weather?"
with a big smile on his face. Got a nice coat of dirt on my soles, even. Can't beat this.

Wow, isn't that great. Some people are complaining about the way the winter "isn't" this year, but you found an awesome reason to do something about it.

It is nice to see a post about barefooting at this time of year, I guess you did better than our co moderator, Bobby. He only went out to bring out the trash, but his weather was in the mid 30's and there was snow on the ground.

Any more comments on that short treck, Bobby?

Today (Sunday) it was in the high 30s when we went to church. I wore my sandals, sockless. When church let out it was in the high 40s, so I carried my sandals to the car and have been barefoto all afternoon. Our newspaper wasn't delivered today (for some strange reason -- our delivery family is pretty good), so my bf and I went to the WaWa to buy a paper -- I went barefoot and it did NOT go unnoticed. The clerk in teh store went to hs with us, and she said, well I guess Bobby has conquored winter!!! he he.

Dale is referring to my trek to the curb with our trash can last week on Tuesday night. Our pickup is early Wednesday morning. I went our back door barefoot, and wheeled the can around the house. Mom thought I was crazy since there was still about 2 inches of snow on the ground from the weekend.

Keep on barefooting -- its the way God created us!!

I know barefoot patrick has a story about being barefoot in the winter and sliding down his driveway. I think the others need to hear this story at this time of year. Where are you Patrick?
