but check and do the following
1. what O/s are you using? win 95-win 2000, to get very fast movement of data, install a min of 64mb-128mb . from win Me -winxp and Linux use min of 128mb-256mb
2. what type or level of processor are you using? if it is 286,486,pentium 1 or pentium 2 then you need to reduce the work load you in your system
