not to knock anyone..

June 26 2012, 5:14 PM

Just wondering how 17 wins and 12 losses as a goalie gets someone so hyped up, when PR has had many better goalies in the years past, who were never even considered for NHL draft... seriously, am I missing something?

Info

June 26 2012, 5:41 PM

That missing info would be:

-Maguire has displayed he can develop consistently over the past 3 years.

-He has committed to BU and will get top quality coaching, with an opportunity to be the starter within 3 years. (Therefore playing and developing against the top NCAA players)

-He's an Octagon hockey prospect/Client

All these points lead an organization to believe he'll be a legitimate pro out of the NCAA or after a few years of experience in the AHL.

Hope that clears things up...

Go to Google, type in the blank spot, click, read

The word "Octagon" is capitalized. That's a hint that it's a business name. They are probably agents...... I mean "advisors".

It's called a case of "who you know" who knows who!

Re: NHL Draft

I watched Brandon Morley may times this year and it is sad a team did not pick him up in this years draft. He never takes a shift off, sets up plays every shift, is an offensive threat all around the ice, Hits like he is 6 foot 4 200 pounds, and blocks many shots. Suprised he was not picked up. Good chance he will be picked up next year in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft

After having the opportunity to watch Brandon throughout last year and just recently at a training skate, the kid is one of the most underrated prospects available. I would bet if he has an injury free season he'll put up the types of numbers that see him go in the top three rounds of the draft. I would consider it a good thing he didn't go in the 7th this year.

Kids got a bright future.

Hits like 6-4 but is 5-9, 160. And next year will be a top-three round NHL pick despite being 19. Sounds like a sure thing.

I know his size, but he is a solid kid and hits heavy. Great goal scoring touch around the net and makes great plays, rumor is he has been contacted by very big schools in the top end caliber of college hockey. I'm just saying this kid is someone to really look for in the future

Seriously, Brandon is an extremely hard working energy player, but he is 5'7" and wasn't even a point a game player in the BCHL last year with top line minutes including powerplay and penalty kill. I would find it very hard to believe that he is going to be drafted next year. I will be interested to see how he makes out without older bro on his line.
