Each team in the league is supposed to be playing two games in that early season tournament in Chilliwack. One game from their home schedule and one from their road schedule. But Vernon is listed as having two of their home games in this tournament. Penticton is shown as having two road games in the tournament. I suspect a simple bookkeeping error. If not, the Vernon fans will have one fewer game at home than the rest of the league. And Penticton would have one more.
Nothing gets past me. |

Sprucekings also show having 2 road games. |

Apparently stuff still gets past you.
If you count it out, Vernon has 27 home and 27 road games once the showcase is over.
Whether it is actually a bookkeeping error, or if Vernon gets last change in both games (and the ability to wear white uniforms) it doesn't change the make-up of their home/road schedule following the showcase.
If you thought otherwise, you must also think that the league LOVES Penticton and HATES the Vipers (which answers the age-old question, what have you done for me lately?)
I digress, is it September yet? |

I did notice that they only had 27 home and 27 road games after the Showcase, but I couldn't recall if the schedule had been reduced to 56 or 54 games. It looks like they have some patching up to do on the schedule. The schedule is unbalanced enough without teams even having different numbers of home and road games.
Hey, come to think of it, this could be a way to raise the average number of fans per game. Have the small market teams play most of their games in the big market teams' rinks. LOL |

54 + 2 at the showcase = 56 games |

This is also a good way to give yourself a raise too!!
For the price of 30 home games, you now only get to watch 27 |

I noticed that the Capitals play Trail 3 times this year. Once in the showcase Sept 8, once at home Oct 20 and once away Feb 15. I thought you only played the interior team twice. Am I missing something |

They play Trail 3 times cause if they only played them twice it would only equal 55 games for them. In Merritt's case they play PG three times, and everyone else from outside their division 2 times. it is due to the number of games that is all. |

Each team plays the other divisions teams twice each.
Interior plays Coast and Island home and home, etc.
The showcase is additional games on top of that. Showcase does not fit into the breakdown of the scheduled games. | |
