Selection Process

I was wondering how the Canadian Teams are actually selected? I mean I have not heard about any tryouts as such for the u19 or the senior squads. And apparently the performances of players in Premier or even lower lever divisions don't matter. So how are people really selected.

I think there should be a board of selectors from different regions and some form of unbiased way to decide who is deserving of going on tours or else Canadian cricket is going to continue to suffer.
