Dissapointing

It is quite dissapointing to see the performance of the current Canadian team at the Six Nations Challenge. Even though I am supporting the boys to the fullest, you have to wonder what the hell is going on. I believe that the talent on the team is there, but certain things are missing. First of all a proper coach is missing, and it shows plainly in the team performance and preparation. Jeff Thomas is sorely missed, and these current performances will show what a mistake it was to get rid of him, and what he was able to do for us in Canada. Secondly, Canadian Cricket was missing a concrete plan for the future. That plan is in place now, and a new domestic competition is on the horizon, but it just goes to show what could have been achieved if this plan was implemented say 3 to 4 years ago. The USA after not qualifying for the last World Cup, was serious about qualifying for the one in the West Indies, and they set a plan in place. The results are there of everyone to see now. The US have beaten Namibia, have challenged the UAE and have thrashed us, when only 3 years ago, we had beaten them comfortably. Earlier on in this forum, I had warned everyone about the US, and told them that they were on the right track to catch up with the rest of the world. Some people were laughing at this notion. Well, it seems that they are almost there, and their games against Scotland and Netherlands will be further indicators of how far they have come.

I hope now with a new president and a new plan, that things will change, and by this summer I hope a new coach is acquired. I just hope the boys can now muster enough confidence to beat the rest of their opponents.
