I agree that our school is for learning, and saying the pledge every morning is a good way to learn it. We have many troops that are giving their lives for us to have the honor of that Flag so we should at least recognize the flag and what it stands for....
As for the moments in silence for pray, I have my different views on that. When I think of Prayer I think of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And that is the prayer that I would want my children to pray. But others (mostly in bigger areas) have Mohammad and other gods, the Jewish. That they pray too. and being that this is the Great country that it is we all have that right so I do agree that it needed to be took to a moment of silence so that every child can do as they need to. But that still leaves religion in the factor and all children want to think that their parents are the correct ones so that could cause ripples at school. If Prayer is something that a parent thinks their child needs there is always ways for that to happen. Me and my children pray every morning before we start our day. So it does not personally affect me nor my children if they don't get to at school, my children are little so they would not really know what to do with that few minutes anyway and if the child is older then I am sure there is a few minutes that they can bow their head and pray no matter what is going on around them.
Before I get caught by the grammar police I am sure that there is mistakes and I apologize |

I'm sure that even if it were allowed in school that the principal at Sandlick would take it away from the students, I feel that she enjoys taking things away from them. I'm so glad that I have no children in that school anymore now |

I feel like She's probably the best daymn thing that has happened to that school. Our kids need rules & guuidance..and apparently they sure as hell aint gettin it at most homes. I send my kids to school to LEARN so they can do someting constructive & positive with their lifes....not lay around bumming off of people, being a dead-beat dad, a drug addict, or the town gossips/trouble-makers!
Sure she has cutt alot of things out and I for one am glad to see all of the nonsence cut out. Maybe this will get our kids minds on what it NEEDS to be on and off all of the DRUGS & Bad things that are spreading through this county like a wild fire.
Think about YOUR KIDS PEOPLE!!! |

I'm sure your child gets daily instruction from you on using profanity in everyday talk as your post has stated. |

Therefore I'm sure it is being done at Sandlick as is the moment of silence.
My post "good" was in reference to the "lot of things" mentioned by the poster before. |

How would you like to go from one class to another from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with no time to socialize with friends. Remember, we're talking about children. |

Do the children have a chance for a moment of silence in the morning and the plegde to the flag in the morning which is stated in the law or not

That is a concern you need to take to your governmental representatives. The schools have an enormous amount of state mandated work to do and only 180 days a year to do them. Time is a problem here. | |

salutes the flag but doesn't pray. I would have a problem if the school made the kids pray. I wouldn't have a problem if the school allowed quiet time for the students to do whatever they wanted (prayer) for those who wanted to and activity time for those who didn't. Something tells me you wouldn't have a lot of prayer time in the primary & elementary schools LOL!
I do believe in a firm seperation between church and state. |

The law states that the school is to observe a moment of silence what the students do during that time is up to them but they need to be silence so others have the oppuniuty to mediate reflect, or PRAY |
