Appalachian Wireless is the only cellular provider in Dickenson County that has Towers - one in Haysi and one in Clintwood. All other providers that do have service in Dickenson County are roaming or offer a title called "extended network". You may not have to pay for your roaming if you are with these providers but you are still routing calls through another network and are more apt to drop calls or not be able to place calls on the lower end of signal strength such as 1 bar.
