a question or more.I came home this weekend to Haysi and i had heard so much about the county getting built up and wanting tourism to come in then i start to read the discussion boards.How in the world do we expect tourism or any thing else to come here if they read all this trash people post about each other.I understood that the republicans had a delegate nomination and the people that won will be on the ticket and the democrats had a primary to decide who would be on the ticket.So what in the world is all the bad posts.I sure hope this calms down it really bothers me.No wonder people away from here think of us the way they do.I get the local paper where i live and was happy to see some of the things planned for the county but people have got to let things go.Do go out and vote but enough of this bad posting.

I hope you will post more often. I think you will find that the negative posts are just by a few people who post a large volume of posts. For the most part we have a real good group of posters and have had some great, friendly discussion on politics, religion, sports, just about everything. If you grew up here, you know that most of the people here would do anything for their neighbors. The "outside world" picks out the few and labels all mountaineers as being backward. Hey, as long as we know the truth. Every evening when I drive down the new road and come into Haysi, I feel more secure. I never got that feeling anywhere else I have lived. Join us!

I agree with you Allison. It makes me very angry that people talk about us. We do have some very good people here.

Well, when you are in a small community with very little to do, you are going to have that. Granted there are some GREAT people here in the mountains but there are some that the greatest thrill they get is undermining other people. Politics is the second greatest thing for people to talk about in this area, second is high school football!

we have many problems, but the political thing and the sports thing you will have wherever you live. The only hindrance to living in our county is when our kids grow up they have to leave to make a living and of course the drug problem. Which a lot of citizens have gotten tired of and are now meeting to see how to contain and deal with the drugs which have torn so many families apart, and are the cause of most of the thefts around here.
