Lets bring the prom/homecoming discussion up to the top, too far down the page. In my opinion so far, some people were judged very hard. You know it was high school, and just as you sometimes felt awkward and shy, probably so did some of those "popular kids." Maybe its just me, but I usually talked to anyone, however there was a certain set of girls that hated me, I'm not sure why, I didn't do anything to them.
