Interesting information about the Board of Supervisor race in Sandlick Dist.

September 28 2007 at 9:44 AM

I have just found out that the Invoice that Mr. Sykes has been showing from MainBoard for a total of $500.00 was falsely represented to me.

I was told by Mr. Sykes that the invoice was for one (1) Mounting Elbow Mast, when in actuality it was for fifty (50) of the masts at $10.00 a peice. A savings to DCWin of $250.00 from the $15.00 a peice they were paying from another vendor.

I don't know if Mr. Sykes is telling everyone this or not but I do not think it ethical to missrepresent such things.

But I suppose it is all just Dickenson County politics as usual.

typical mudslinging

Mr. Sykes will do a great job as our supervisor. He wouldn't and don't have to negative campaign because he has this race hands down.

No mud slinging here.

Ask Mr. Sykes to show you his copy of the invoice.

If he has been campaigning at your house like he did mine, it is the first thing his wife pulls out of the binder she carrys.

Mr. Sykes as well as his wife told me themself that the invoice was for one elbow mount when in actuallity it was for 50 of said mounts.

I consider that false representation.

Huh?

Well did you actually see the said invoice? If not than thats hearsay, but however at $10.00 a piece may acutually is a unrealictic price anyhow, because if Mr. Boyd bought them for that price, and everyone knows that if you buy in bulk you get them cheaper so whos to say that he acutally paid $10.00 for them to begin with.

And on top of all of that Mr. Boyd sits on the DCWIN board it should illegal for him to sell anything to DCWIN because that would be a conflict of interest, but as you said yourself thats politics in this county!

Yes I have seen the invoice.

And I questioned Mr. Boyd about it as well.

As for a price of $ 10.00 each, that was at a savings to the county of $ 5.00 each.

You must not have taken your rose colored glasses off when you read my original post or you would have seen that information in it.

As for what Mr. Boyd paid for the elbow masts, I am sure he made a small profit on them.

I am sure that the other company did, why shouldn't he be able to as well.

As for him being on the DCWin Board, that should not disallow him from saving DCWin some well needed money.

Most try to get the lowest bidder, you sound like you want them to buy from the hightest bidder.

He doesnt need to be making ANY money off DCWIN if hes on the board. So what your trying to say is if Joe gets put in office and stays on DCWINs board he should be able to sell DCWIN anything they need and make money on it. Garbage man are you stupid or are you going to get free high speed niternet for helping Joe win.

How am I stupid, you sound to me like you know nothing about it!

Souds like you think that Mr. Boyd should allow DCWin to waste their money.

Mr. Boyd runs a business that happened to sell the item that DCWin needed.

He was not charging more than the other business, he was charging less, you understand the difference in that don't you?

Spend less, save money.

If Mr. Boyd was making a small profit on the sale that is not a crime, even if he made a huge profit it would not be a crime.

He does not run a business to lose money.

Just as DCWin should not be in business to lose money.

My telling the truth and presenting the facts may sway some people to vote for Mr. Boyd but I don't think anything I post is going to be the deciding factor in this race.

As for getting high speed Internet for free, I don't expect that I will even get it for a charge.

I don't think DCWin will reach where I live even if they ever did decide to come do a check on it.

Also, my household does not to use the word "stupid".

We teach our children not to use the word or refer to anyone by that word.

It not only shows disrespect, it shows lack of intellegence on the part of the person using the word.

he should not make any money off DCWin if hes on the board not one dime.he should help them find the best buys on what they need without it going in his pocket.hes on the board to help DCWin not to help his self to DCWin.

I think you should look around and see if anyone else is making money too.

September 30 2007, 8:15 AM

I don't know that Mr. Boyd made money off the sale, I just believe that being a retail provider he would well within his rights to make a profit.

Saving DCWin money is a plus for them.

Now if he was charging more than DCWin could get the product for elswhere or selling at a loss, I would question his motives.

I think you should investigate everyone associated with DCWin if you are going to start complaining that one person is making money from providing materials to DCWin.

That is if you are sincere about what you are saying, if it is just a political maneuver just to discredit Mr. Boyd, then I know you will not look elswhere as well.

Mr. Boyd also owns the building that DCWIN runs its business out of. Sure business is business. But when he sits on their board he should not have so much business with them that it directly filling up his pockets.
