Only God Rules

October 8 2007 at 9:08 PM
Sandlick District Voter

It's time for voters of the Sandlick District to put a man on the School Board who has the education and the backbone to put students, faculty, and staff first when making decisions which affect SES. The current Sandlick District board member can't make a decision on his own, he's a Bill Patton "Yes Man." No matter what your politics, please consider qualifications of candidates. Consider how you would like working in a hostile environment. Rocky Barton is the man for the job. He can help other board members clean up the mess that Donnie Raines has helped to create.

God rules but Money talks

October 9 2007, 12:27 PM

But if you have money Dobb will listen to you. If not then you don't stand a chance of being heard. Dobb will be a yes person to all that are in there. Money sticks with money and you can bet he will help all his friends, first and then watch and see who gets the jobs and who don't. See who gets help. See who's left in the dark. Not the high and mighty. JMO everybody has one of course, and I'm sure someone will speak their's also.

well I have an opinion

October 9 2007, 12:56 PM

Just like everyone else. Dobb has always been friendly to me and never failed to speak to me when I see him, and my family nor I have lots of money. We have had family members pass away with no way to pay for the funeral up front but Chad and Dobb have taken care of them just like we had all the money in the world. His family has never acted uppity to me or my family. I appreciate that so very much. Dobb will do his job, if elected , without regard as to who has the money . I have no doubt of that and he has my vote.

Re: well I have an opinion

I have previously expressed my opinion regarding this race. I have to once again put my two cent in and state that I truly think Dob will do an excellent job.

My views: You would want this position for one of two reasons: 1. The benefits that YOU would receive; or 2. What you can do for the school (employees and students).

As far a Dob's opposition, it is proven that he makes unwarraneted promises, that he has no way or intention of carrying out! (However, he will call these young ladies at HOME... to offer them a job.. hmmmm...) But when it comes down to getting the job.. something fell through!

Take for instance the last board meeting: He made a point of telling "listeners" that he thought that the principle fill in should be qualified (but guess why... one of the listeners was in fact qualified) However, when it came down to voting, he hid behind Mr. Patton and rode on his coat tails thoughout the meeting..

It is obvious that Mr. Raines is already under the control of the Power Pattons and as long as he is in there, nothing within our school is going to change. And that would be very very SAD!

VOTE FOR DOB!!!!

how do you know

were you there?

October 10 2007, 10:46 AM

when he (mr raines) called all of these women at home and offered them a job were you sitting in his living room with him? how do you know that he did this? and as far as being a yes man to patton I can assure you that he is not. the problem is that a lot of the schools do not have qualified people to take a princple's place if they have to leave. its not just ses it's the other schools. once again get your facts right before you start something. hide mr. raines has no need to hide call him, stop by his house, he will talk to you if you will talk to him. get real here. ask the barton family how many people they had to hide from when they filed bankruptcy, or how many people went under because of them. if your going to be honest here lets it get all out in the open. would it not be nice if we all could drive such nice cars and own nice big houses. remember promises that we keep well sometimes it doesn't happen that way. so you think mr raines is so evil and and mr barton so nice? I would think about that a while longer if I were you.

I have never felt like Dobb thinks he is better than anyone else, we need a change if anyone had any doubts that should have been cleared up at the last board meeting. Dobb will not be a "yes man" to anyone. Tell me were was the principal at SES on open house night? I have been to all of them and have never saw her there. Maybe I can catch her at the fall folly (when the school is raising money) sat. night I will be there and need to talk with her.

Have money

October 10 2007, 8:16 AM

that's not true,i don't have money and Rocky has always been a friend to me. No matter where i see him he comes and talks with me, as long as i've known him he's been that way. I really believe we could talk with him on a personal level if we had a problem that needed addressing with the school board. Al of the voters of Haysi should think about this before you vote for the other candidate.

Is Nanax3

October 10 2007, 7:33 PM

Diane Reedy? Isn't that what she has on her tag? If it is then no wonder she wants Dobb in there, she can go back to all the smoke breaks that she wants, leaving the kids alone in the classroom back to the good life.

What a joke...no teacher has left students alone to go smoke. Plus, that is not what is on Diane's tags. Her tags say Nans 12.

No Nana3 isn't Diane Reedy

But I can tell you that I have been called worse.Haha. I am just someone who has 3 grandchildren. That is why I post that way. Not very imaginative of me I know. I just am of the opinion that Dobb would be very fair in his duties on the school board. I have always been treated well by him and all his family. I believe him to be an honest person who is genuinely concerned for the children of Dickenson County.

Wonder no longer

First, let's get the spelling of my name correct - Diana. My tags have never had Nanax3 but did have Nans 5 until recently. I thought it was time to catch up with all the grandchildren I've been blessed with so now the tags read Nans12. Yes, I smoke but have never left my class unattended to do so. If there is anything else you are wondering about and would like to discuss it please feel free to call me at 865-5337.

The school board is NOT about money or NOT about getting people jobs. That is whats wrong with our schools now. Thats what it has been about for years - who can get people a school bus driving job or other jobs in the school systems. Please wake up and think about our children and their futures!!!!!! If we dont, who will. I cannot believe people would actually worry about who can get jobs for them when our schools are falling apart. Think about the students. Think about what you should be thinking about concerning this matter. Vote for Rocky Barton.
